Punch tickets are sold by the towns of Willsboro and Essex at their Town Halls and other designated locations. Tickets are also available for sale at the Transfer Station during regular business hours. Checks only accepted. (Site personnel are unable to accept cash or credit cards.)
Charges as follows for refuse weighed at the site:

The above formula will continue for all refuse weighed at the site.
Metal: accepted according to special guidelines (Separate Sheet)
Tires: Passenger Car Tires up to 16 1/2 inches: $3.00
Truck Tires 16 1/2 to 24 1/2: $10.00
Tractor/Other Tires over 24 1/2 inches: $25.00

THE ESSEX TOWN WASTE MANAGEMENT FACILITY IS NOW PROHIBITED BY THE D.E.C. FROM ACCEPTING ELECTRONIC WASTE. THIS INCLUDES COMPUTERS AND MONITORS, TELEVISION SETS, COMPUTER PERIPHERALS, ETC. THIS NEWLY ENACTED LAW TOOK EFFECT ON JANUARY 1, 2012.

Recycle Your Electronic Waste in Three Easy Steps:
1.Go to DEC’s list of electronic equipment manufacturers registered in NYS (PDF) (194 kB), to find manufacturers, their brands of covered electronic equipment, websites and toll-free telephone numbers.
2.Find the manufacturer’s brand of equipment you wish to recycle, and click on that manufacturer’s website link or call its listed toll-free telephone number.
3.Follow the specific instructions listed on the manufacturer’s website or provided over the telephone. The manufacturer will provide information on how to recycle your equipment, free of charge.
New Electronic Waste Law:
The NYS Electronic Equipment Recycling and Reuse Act (PDF) (39 kB), requires manufacturers to provide free and convenient recycling of electronic waste to most consumers in the state. It was signed into law by the Governor on May 28, 2010.

Take exit 39 off the Northway. Make a left turn at the light, and it is on the right side, almost directly, across from the mobil station. Cumberland 12 cinema is down the road just a short distance.
Not open Saturdays. Call before going, as there is a $1000.00 fine if you just leave items outside.
