CATS is pleased to announce the opening of our first ever Photo Contest – A View from the Trails!
Participants should submit a photograph taken from a CATS trail AND include a short 25-100 word caption about the picture.
Entries will be accepted at [email protected] through May 15th. Please title the entry Photo Contest, include the caption text in the body of the email and attach the photo as a medium resolution JPG (about 1280 X 1024 pixels).
Select entries will be posted on the CATS website. The people’s choice and judge’s selection winners will be announced this summer. People’s choice winner earns $100 and the judge’s selection earns $250! If you’ve been hard at work on your entry for this year’s CATS Writing Contest- don’t worry, you’ll have a chance later in the year for that contest too! Until then, get out there and start taking pictures!

Champlain Area Trails is creating a network of hiking/skiing trails in New York’s Champlain Valley that links communities, connects people to nature, enhances economic vitality and protects habitat, farmland, clean water, and scenic vistas. We envision the Champlain Valley with conserved forests and farmland surrounding vibrant hamlets with people hiking and skiing between communities and patronizing local businesses. The key to success is conservation of the landscape so natural and scenic resources sustain local communities, attract visitors and new residents and provide habitat for native plants and animals.
